3rd Annual BigEd.Org 5K Run-Walk
Date: Saturday November 5, 2011
Location: Deer Island/Boston Harbor – Winthrop, MA
Start: 11:00 A.M.
Check-In: 9:30 A.M. – 10:30 A.M.
Entry Fee: $25.00 – Includes t-shirt and entry into raffle for a Polar RS300X Heart Rate Monitor, CamelBak Hydration Pack, Mobil gas cards, Dunkin cards, Winthrop area certificates, and more… Raffles will be called at 12:15 – Must be present to win.
Directions to Deer Island: Please See Attached (190 Tafts Ave, Winthrop)
Parking will be parallel on the access road into the facility, clearly marked with orange cones.
Course Description: 3 miles of paved walkways, with dramatic views of the Boston skyline, Harbor Islands, and a pair of wind turbines at the state of the art waste water treatment plant operated by MWRA. Arrive early and take advantage of the spectacular sites and historic information
All Proceeds to benefit BigEd.org’s mission to help alleviate a small portion of the financial stress and anxiety of cancer patients and their families, by providing them with assistance with their daily living expenses while being treated for this terrible disease. BigEd.org was founded in memory and honor of Eddie (Big Ed) Hall a Winthrop resident, who lost his battle with cancer at the age of 34.
