Welcome and thank you for visiting our website. BigEd.org is a 501(c )(3) charitable organization founded to help individuals who have been diagnosed with cancer and their families. The organization helps these people with their daily living expenses while they are undergoing treatment. We invite you to read our site, view our pictures, and join us at our upcoming events. If you know of any cancer patients that could benefit from our assistance, please submit their information to us by emailing us at help@biged.org.

Location: Deer Island/Boston Harbor – Winthrop, MA
Start: 11:00 A.M.
Check-In: 9:30 A.M. – 10:30 A.M.
Entry Fee: $25.00 – Includes t-shirt and entry into raffle for a Polar RS300X Heart Rate Monitor, CamelBak Hydration Pack, Mobil gas cards, Dunkin cards, Winthrop area certificates, and more… Raffles will be called at 12:15 – Must be present to win.

Directions to Deer Island: Please See Attached (190 Tafts Ave, Winthrop)

Parking will be parallel on the access road into the facility, clearly marked with orange cones.

Course Description: 3 miles of paved walkways, with dramatic views of the Boston skyline, Harbor Islands, and a pair of wind turbines at the state of the art waste water treatment plant operated by MWRA. Arrive early and take advantage of the spectacular sites and historic information

All Proceeds to benefit BigEd.org’s mission to help alleviate a small portion of the financial stress and anxiety of cancer patients and their families, by providing them with assistance with their daily living expenses while being treated for this terrible disease. BigEd.org was founded in memory and honor of Eddie (Big Ed) Hall a Winthrop resident, who lost his battle with cancer at the age of 34.

BigEd.org was selected as part of the The One Hundred. The One Hundred Club is a Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center’s annual event honoring one hundred extraordinary individuals and groups whose diligence and discoveries, philanthropy and passion have helped advance the fight against cancer.

BigEd.org was honored at a dinner on June 2. “Everyone associated with The One Hundred feels part of something special – the honorees as well as the patients, co-workers, family members and friends who nominated them.”
